HOSPITALITY
Hello and welcome to the hospitable nature of Victory Assembly. Our department is the warm hands of Victory assembly extended to the members, visitors and our guests every week. We follow the scriptures in Romans 13:12 "Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality."
Hospitality department is a very active and lively unit in Victory Assembly. They cater for the Church on ever service days, providing light lunch and drinks for all the members, first time worshippers and especially guest Ministers.
We are looking for members who are patient, and long suffering with catering for people, passionate about God and His people, seeking to reflect God's love to everyone irrespective of who they are or who they are not with a touch of excellence, through adequate organisation and creativity.
We are also looking for people who are astound in the place of service, not given to murmuring or complains, but rather patient to prepare for everyone's need and be able to also tidy up the reception, lounge, cafe area and the kitchen after all is done. We usually meet on first Mondays of every month and briefly to serve after every service. However this could increase at peak periods in the year, like the major conference times.

EVENTS & PUBLICITY TEAM
The events and publicity team are responsible for ensuring the smooth running and organizing of events. Also for raising the profile of Victory Assembly in the city of Sheffield and beyond.
This includes promoting VA events through the media, printed advertising, liaising with other churches and any other way of getting out the message of VA events. We also look to reach out to the people of Sheffield and to build up collaborative relationship between Victory Assembly and other agencies so that we can do more for our city.
We are looking for members who are passionate about God and His kingdom work within VA and who want so see our events have a greater degree of excellence, through organisation and greater & more creative forms of publicity. People who will gossip the gospel and the benefits of Victory Assembly and will not be ashamed to plug VA wherever they are.
We are also looking for people who have an eye for detail who cannot stand disorder, but who instead of complaining will help devise and implement plans to overcome any form of disorder to bring all our events to a place of excellence. We also want people who can not necessarily give regular commitment to the team but who would come on board in the run up to events to help with mail shots and leafleting around the city.
We usually meet on Tuesdays, at varying frequencies (weekly or more often in the run up to events, fortnightly or slightly less when an event is not imminent) depending on the severity of the need.

WELCOME & FRIENDSHIP
The purpose of the Welcome team is to facilitate people moving from the periherals of the Church into the main body of workers, through imparting the vision to people and enthusing others to be involved in kingdom work.
We believe that the welcome and friendship ministry of VA is at the cutting edge of what God is seeking to do through VA in the city. We believe that there are people we are assigned to, people that God wants to use us to reach and impact. God will lead us to them and will bring them to church; we don’t want to lose them but keep them and see God change their lives as he continues to pour out his goodness amongst us.
As our name suggests, The Welcome and Friendship ministry of VA helps to welcome everyone that comes through our door during all our meetings and events and helps us to develop friendship/relationship with them. It is our desire in VA to be a church for all peoples. We desire that everyone who comes into VA feels welcomed and accepted no matter his or her race, colour, qualification or background. It is the mandate of the welcome and friendship team to make everyone that comes into our church feel important, accepted and like he too belongs here.
Nobody should come into VA and leaves unnoticed or without being talked to. To VA everybody counts, everybody is important, everybody has got something to offer. We pray for people that come through our door weekly.
The Practice:
After the service, new people are asked to leave the main auditorium to go to the café area for light welcome refreshment. There they will be offered coffee/other drinks and snacks and asked to fill in their welcome cards. The welcome team also shares with them few things about VA as a church, our services, meetings and events e.t.c. and would pray with them.
If the need arise for some sort of counselling or more they would be refered to the Pastor or one of the leaders. A team member would be assigned to and shall be responsible for a new comer especially when he or she lives in Sheffield and or is considering making VA a home church, and it shall be that members responsibility to keep record of discussion with the person to help and enable him settle.
The Welcome and Friendship also organises the quarterly welcome meeting where everyone who has joined VA within the quater of the year get to meet with the pastors and leaders over lunch and gets to interact and are introduced to various departments in the Church, while we encourage them to enrol for the Workers induction Course, and also join an Encounter group.
The goal for this meeting is to find out how they are settling in VA.
